We are creating a training manual for a 4 star hotel. How do u suggest we get employee's to take initiative?

We Answered:

"Initiative" means different things to different people. The first thing you need to do is make sure you have a clear definition and concept of what you consider acceptable "initiative" to be. People need to know what authority they have and where that authority ends. You also need to make sure that supervisors and managers understand what types of decisions employees will and won't be allowed to make.

I've worked places where I believed I was taking initiative and I was accused of being pushy, bossy, or over-stepping my authority.

We would like to bring to your kind notice that the training program for your staff has been completed.?

We Answered:

I agree with all of the first guys suggestions. "Kind notice" sounds lame.

Writing a script for an interactive, animated, training program.?

We Answered:

Look up "storyboarding". You need to write storyboards to explain what appears on each screen (artwork/animation, text, prompts) and any visible or invisible interactive spots/controls/interface elements. Each storyboard should indicate what happens next after any user action. Think of this as a detailed instruction manual for anyone who might actually build/program such a thing. Of course, it also has to end up being an instructionally sound product. I'll assume for now you know something about adult learning theory, principles of instructional systems design, and human factors/user interface design.

Check out this website that has a list of current trends in education....obviously not all of them will be applicable to preschool teachers but the site may help you brainstorm and get ideas!

I used to teach preschool and some of the staff development programs we had were:
1> classroom management!!!!
2>developmental stages (to help staff understand differences in ages and stages of preschoolers)
2>diversification in the classroom
3>health and safety
