Roger Said:
Would you please take a look at my resume? We Answered:
I think you might want to revise your resume a bit..1. Your objective should be short and direct, usually starts like "to obtain a position where my Customer Service skills can be utilized" something in that order. It should give the impact to the prospective employer you have the skill set for the job applying. What you have written there is not your objectives, but rather, lets say, things you might want to write on your cover letter. From my perspective, not very many would read the long objectives paragraph.
When they get your resume first they look at the description of 1 or 1 1/2 line long objectives, then your education and skills. If all three grab their attention then they look at your cover letter with the rest of your resume and then your resume gets separated from the rest. So keep your objective line short but explain all your skills and suitability for the position on your cover letter maximum in three paragraphs.
The important thing is to prioritize the content of your resume.
2. When you are talking about work experience, do it with bullet points..use short sentences pick words would explain your duties the best. You can find lots of samples on line. Piles of them..
3. If I don't look at your resume close up, I won't be able to see your selling the benefits of your skills because you list them under your experience. I wouldn't do that. You have a pretty good success ratio and should not be covered under a lot of words. They should come forward. I think what you should do is under your objective put your skills set, again do it with bullet points.
Customer Conversion was improved by 20%, that should be one bullet and then the other then the other, but they should be above the place you put your work experience .
So your resume should follow the order of
1. Objectives
2. Career Profile, there you put your skills and profile
3. Experience
4. Education
5. Interests
Now, if you have a strong education for this job then your education should come in #2, but depending on the job and the experience you have that could stay in #4
5. Finally you might want to include your interests. Usually some HR managers look at this part to see if you have a life after work or you are just a workaholic.
Lots of books about resume writing which you can borrow from your local library and there you'll find many samples of resumes for the same type of jobs you are applying..
Good luck with the job..
