Teaching Jobs In America

I want to find a teaching job in America.?We Answered:
That should be very easy, especially if you already have a bachelor's degree in education. They are always looking for Math teachers. I live in Athens, Ga and there are openings here. Don't limit yourself to one sector. Try public and private schools. Send in your resume and references to district and private offices. You'll be hired in less than a month. It took me one day. Good luck.David Said:
What are some teaching jobs/fellowships, similar to Teach for America? ?We Answered:
Im sorry to be the bearer of bad news - but I know those programs well. The unstated rule for all similar programs is that they are looking for future teachers. They are not looking to put their time and effort into people who for whatever reasons are going to leave at the end of the program.Even at TFA's own website - they success stories they highlight all still have a connection to education.
To answer your question there are tons of regional programs that are designed to get people into the education field. The bad part for your particular situation - is that they are designed to get people in for the long run. It is very expensive to run a program that replaces state certification - ask any teacher who paid for it on their own. 2 Years graduate work at UCLA is nothing to sneeze at. That investment is expected to pay off.
calstate teach
NYC teachign fellowship
Citizen schools national teachign fellowship
Knowles foundation teaching fellowship
CSU Governors teaching fellowship
Plenty out there - quick search led me to some above.

It's not AS easy to find a job as an English teacher here, we mostly need science, math and special educationThere are lots of openings for English teachers, but if there is a particular area you are moving to, chances are they aren't looking for an English teacher. to get a job as an english teacher you need to be able to move to where they have the openings.
Also it is best that you get your degree in English (if you want to teach high school or middle school -grades 5 to 12). And then minor in education, or just take a few classes for education to get used to it if your university doesn't offer a minor in education (mine didn't) THEN, after you graduate, get a Masters of Teaching here in the states that will give you certification for teaching, OR, get a postbaccalauret through something like WGU (this is what I'm doing because it's online and you can do it anywhere and it gives you certification to teach in every state) and its quicker than a Masters. But you need to get your certification here in the states and do your student-teaching here too if you want to make it an easy process.
But that's the process: Get a degree, then get certification
Or you could get your degree in English education. But its better the other way. You'll be more in demand if your degree is in English, not education

How to get a teaching job in Latin America? We Answered:
I'm living in Quito now. I know that almost anyone can teach English. But considering your background I suspect you are looking for something different. I know a number of Ph.D candidates from U.S. schools who have considered working in some posh high schools for $1400us a month plus travel stipend and little Spanish required. If you have the degree in hand and are looking for jobs. I think your best bet is to come to Ecuador as a tourist and start to make contacts. You can't get anything done here without knowing somebody. But meeting people isn't that hard. And the cost of living isn't much. Depending on where you live it's 300$ a month rent for a nice place in a safe neighborhood in Quito/Guayaquil/Cunca (major cities).
If you are single, I think you best bet is to move to Ecuador and teach English temporarily. Teaching English will pay well enough to support you, especially if you have some cash stowed away somewhere. While teaching English try to find the better paying full time teaching position and make the contacts to get it.
Good Luck
