Teaching certification?We Answered:
It depends where you live. Here in the UK you can do a Post Graduate Diploma in teaching. It takes a year and is quite demanding. You do 3 placements in school and these are couple with seminars, lectures, projects and essays. If you are not from the UK you can still take the course as an international student. I'm sure American universities and colleges offer similar programmes but I might be wrong.
The following websites are for Scottish Universities (both of which I went to) which offer postgraduate teaching diplomas in both Primary and Secondary Education. Just click on the faculty of education links for help.
www.gla.ac.uk
www.strathclyde.ac.uk
Good luck and let us know what you decide to do!

I am looking to teach English in Ukraine. Does anyone have a list of schools that do not require certification? We Answered:
All Ukrainian secondary schools require certification by the Ukraine Education Ministry. You can teach TOEFL if you have a TOEFL certification. You can teach at any university, and any of the private langauge schools, without certification. They all seek native English speakers to teach, especially if they have prior teaching experience.
At the university level, you will need to be able to speak and write Ukrainian, to fill out government forms and to communicate with your students (it is a national law). At the private schools, you can get away with speaking Russian + English.
If you can't speak either language, your chances are slim of getting work.
Here's a list of universities, but it is not exhaustive. You'll need to go and do some footwork: http://www.4icu.org/ua/

how do you get the texas certification for teaching in high school? We Answered:
If you have not gotten your degree yet, take education classes (see an advisor in the education department to find out which ones). If you already have a bachelor's degree, there is an alternative certification program (usually through the nearest Education Service Center) where you take a class on Saturday during your first year of teaching. You have to turn in lesson plans to the instructor and get observed several times, but at least you get to start teaching (and getting paid) while you are working on your certification. Before you can begin your second year, you must pass the TeXeS test to get certified. (You have to pay for the test and for a copy of your teaching certificate).
To find out how to get started, either find your closest Education Service Center, or call the central administration office for the district you would like to teach in. They should be able to tell you how to get started.
Hope this helps.
