You should look into your state's specific requirements for teachers. Here in Michigan, you can only teach in the area in which you majored and obtained your degree. We aren't allowed to teach in the area we minor in either. Which is why I double majored!
Also if you haven't updated your teaching certification recently, you may have to do that as well.

These jobs would mainly be at the college or university level. A lesser degree on the same field would qualify you for the jobs in junior colleges or high schools or maybe for large corporations or govt agencies.

Check with the universities offering the degrees, pay particular attention to the ones you are considering.
Ask, "How many positions in this field open up each year?"
"How many students graduate each year in this field?"

And most important, "How many of your graduates are placed each year?"

We are a gasoline based economy. The funding is not made available for solar programs at State Universities. You can study geology and everything related to oil exploration, because the government has made the funding of these programs in public universities available. When our government gets different leadership with an eye for the urgency of the need for developing this technology , things will turn around.

Meanwhile you can study solar technology at Oxford, England, and in Japan at most universities, and in Germany at most engineering universities...

Solar technology us usually taught as part of an aerospace engineering program.

Maybe you will be the one to make a change!

Hello, I am a Certified School Social Worker in Florida. To become certified in any Subject Area (SA) you will have to take the General Knowledge Exam and Professional Competency Exam regardless of what Subject Area you become certified in. Then you will have to take a Subject Area Exam (SAE) for exazmple, math (k-6), social sciences etc. You can access the various subject areas and the requirements for each by googling something like, "Florida certification subject areas" and you should be brought to a DOE website. I hope this helps, good luck. Oh, and you do not have to have these three exams completed to be hired as a teacher (I believe) you have three years following date of hire to complete them, but you will need the specific prerequisite degree.

Maybe you could rip apart some old gadget you don't want (like an old cellphone) and take the interesting parts like the digital chips inside, and hot glue them to an old shoe. You could also sign the shoe in sharpie to make it more personal; or if you're feeling more creative you could use fabric paint and glitter to decorate it even more (just be careful with the electronic chips). It will mean something because it takes what she teaches and what she coaches. Then you can get her a card, and write something on it like "here is one of a kind sculpture for my favorite teacher."
I know that if she likes it, it will be something she keeps for a long time.
My old elementary school teacher says she still has the present I gave her years ago which involved the bottom of one of my shoes ( I moved away and miss her a lot.) I know it sounds kind of outlandish, but it's something unique that she will look at and remember you by.
