Do we need to waste our resources to teach irrelevant age old history to our children in Schools? We Answered:
History is very relevant. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Kids may not like, or understand the need for, studying ancient history but as they mature they will begin to see the connection. What portion or type of history should be taught to grade schoolers - (High School Jr High )?We Answered:
I think history should be taught from a radical perspective. A genuine class interpretation, exploitation, imperialism in development of countries and tolerance. Not the usual crap about historical figures, memorizing data about them.Change agents are important, like Trudeau in Canada or FDR in the US, the origins of wars also. I recommend Howard Zinn's A people's history of the US, and Lies my Teachers told me. I would appreciate learning about similar books in CanadaArnold Said:
