DETC accreditation is fine as they are approved by the US Dept of Ed as a recognized accreditor. the state licensing you mentioned is technically only that: a license to operate within state borders.

Whether or not the DETC school you refer to participates in the federal PELL program is something you have to check out.

If you have the discipline and ability to work on your own then it's a great way to earn your degree. It a great alternative for people with full-time employment as well. I think my GPA was hgher through distance learning than sitting in a conventional classroom.

It took a lot of pressure off of me with worrying about work, school, & family. With distance learning I had more time for work and family because I was going through college online. I could work on school whenever I had some time and I didn't really have to adjust my work and family schedule to do so. If you decided to do this I wish you luck. For me distance learning was a godsend.

Well, first off, they're just too darn expensive. In terms of recognition, most prestigious universities do not count the all of the units that you took.

There are a few universities that count the units that you've taken but these are few.
