I've had good and bad experiences with distance education, mostly bad though. Mainly the issue is just the fact that you don't get the face to face interaction with the instructor. It seems to me like these courses usually end up being an independent study session where you teach yourself as opposed to learning from the expertise of the instructor.However, I once took a course that was simultaneously offered as distance learning for a branch university. The nice thing about this course was that all of the lectures were video taped and posted online. Also the main class and distance class were connected live via satellite. Even though I was in the live course, I found myself really relying on the videos of the classes that were made available for the distance learning students. So I was able to hear and see real lectures from a professor, but I was also able to fast forward, rewind, etc.
So in general, I would say that distance learning is not as effective as classroom learning except in cases where they have tried to provide elements of that classroom experience as previously described.

No - if it is entirely online.If it is distance with an on-campus requirement, yes.
Your best path is to get an MBA with night and weekend classes.
